Is there a charge for the first visit?
The first visit is complimentary. The doctor will examine the patient to determine the type and the length of treatment. We will be able to you an accurate fee quote following the initial exam.
What age should I send my child for an exam?
Catching problems early can mean your child grows up with a healthier smile. That is why the American Association of Orthodontist recommends an orthodontist see your child by age 7.
How much does orthodontic treatment cost?
The type of treatment and the length of time it takes to correct the malocclusion determine cost. The prices can start as low as $2500.00 or be as high as $6500.
Does it hurt to put the braces on?
No. it does not hurt to put on the braces. The whole processor takes about 2-3 hours.
My friend said that it hurts, when does it start to hurt?
Most people teeth do not hurt. Most people report some discomfort from their braces when they touch their teeth or bite things. This discomfort starts 3-4 hours after braces are placed and can last up to 48 hours.
Do I have to see my dentist when I am in treatment?
Yes, it is important to see your dentist for regular visits. Your dentist is the one that is checking your teeth for any cavity’s that may appear. We also recommend that your teeth be professional cleaned even while you are wearing braces.
Do I need to floss?
Yes. in order to continue to have healthy teeth and gums flossing is a must. The Doctor and his assistants will show- you how to floss and brush the day you receive your braces. Remember plaque is your enemy by brushing and flossing it is a very affective way of removing plaque.
What is and can I wear invisaligns?
Invisalign is a popular treatment option that involves wearing a series of clear, Removable aligners that gradually move your teeth without wires or brackets. However not everyone is a candidate for this treatment. The doctor will inform the patient if invisalign would be an option.
Are there some foods I will need to stay away from?
Yes, we do recommend that you do not chew gum; this could loosen your braces. Food that is hard and crunchy for example peanuts, ice, popcorn and hard chips, could cause your braces to break off Loosen and broken braces generally extend the length of treatment.
